Alpaca 101 - New Owners Courses

Thinking about alpaca ownership or recently welcomed alpacas into your family? Our Alpaca 101 course is the perfect place to start. Designed especially for new owners, this engaging and practical course gives you the confidence, knowledge, and hands-on skills needed to care for your alpacas properly from day one.​

 

 

Delivered using official British Alpaca Society (BAS) training material, Alpaca 101 covers BAS Modules 1–3 and 5 and is led by Kim Murray, BAS Accredited Trainer. You’ll learn in a relaxed, friendly environment while gaining trusted, industry-approved guidance.​

 

The course covers key topics including:

  • Understanding alpaca behaviour and welfare needs

  • Daily care, handling, and safe management

  • Feeding, nutrition, and pasture management

  • Health monitoring, common illnesses, and basic first aid

  • Parasite control, biosecurity, and routine husbandry

  • Legal responsibilities and best practice alpaca care​

 

This course is informative, practical, and enjoyable, making it ideal for anyone who wants to give their alpacas the very best start in life.
